Common sense isn't common practice. When wages, educational attainment, and literacy rates were lower, people had limited choices. So, treating work and worker as mere transactions was acceptable. Now, choice of where to work or how to work is increasing and will do so in perpetuity. Creating mattering will be a necessity.
